NEBOSH, formed in 1979 as an independent examining board and awarding body with charitable status, sets globally recognised, vocationally related qualifications for private and public sector workplaces alike.

The programme moves from foundations and health and safety management systems — policy, organising and planning (Unit IGC1) — through workplace, transport and musculoskeletal hazards, work equipment, fire and electrical hazards, to chemical, biological, physical and psychological health hazards, each paired with proportionate risk controls you can apply in any employment sector.

The IGC suits managers and supervisors with health and safety responsibilities, HSE officers building a formal qualification, worker representatives and safety committee members, and professionals working across international jurisdictions. Sessions run on a rolling calendar with dates confirmed on request, and fees and quotations are shared on enquiry — tell us your preferred timing and we will advise.

Open-enrolment NEBOSH IGC cohorts run on a rolling calendar in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Doha, Muscat, Manama and Kuwait City, with dates confirmed on request, and there is a live online option for delegates who cannot travel. In-house delivery is available at your own site anywhere in the GCC, which suits employers putting a whole supervisory team through the qualification at once.

The NEBOSH IGC is assessed in two units. Unit IG1 is a scenario-based open-book examination that tests what you know, followed by a closing interview to confirm the work is your own. Unit IG2 is a practical risk assessment of your own workplace, for which NEBOSH allows three hours: you identify hazards, evaluate the controls in place and produce an action plan. NEBOSH recommends a minimum of 63 taught hours and roughly 40 hours of private study before the assessments.
