ICAAP & Capital Planning Advisory →Frequently asked
Which capital and Basel programme should our bank start with?
Start with Basel III Final Reforms & Capital Planning, the first step of the Capital & ICAAP learning path. Teams that already own the ICAAP can move straight to Advanced ICAAP, Capital & Liquidity Stress Testing & Recovery Planning, while internal auditors who review capital adequacy should choose Auditing Basel II, Basel III and the ICAAP. Liquidity specialists may prefer Advanced ILAAP, Liquidity Stress Testing & Contingency Funding Planning.
What does capital, liquidity and Basel training cover, and who is it for?
It covers the Basel capital and liquidity standards, the ICAAP and ILAAP, stress testing, and recovery and resolution planning. It is for chief risk officers, heads of capital management, treasury, finance and internal audit teams, and the supervisors who review these frameworks. Programmes are practitioner-led, delivered in English and French, in the classroom, live virtual or in-house, and each participant receives a BIZENIUS Certificate of Achievement.
How do your ICAAP and ILAAP programmes differ?
The ICAAP is a bank’s internal assessment of the capital it needs for its risks; the ILAAP is the equivalent for liquidity and funding. Basel III Final Reforms & Capital Planning centres on capital, and Advanced ILAAP, Liquidity Stress Testing & Contingency Funding Planning on liquidity. Advanced ICAAP, Capital & Liquidity Stress Testing & Recovery Planning links the two through shared stress scenarios and the recovery plan, for teams that own the full cycle.
